Programme
Aimed at young people who already have at least a basic/medium knowledge of the instrument; the course will focus on a free individual programme, tailored to the needs of the students.
Ample space will be devoted to ensemble work with various flute sizes, on Renaissance, Baroque, 20th century and contemporary repertoire:
- Phalèse, Danseries
- Mattheson, Sonatas for two and three flutes
- Staeps, Rondo in C
- Doppelbauer, Suite
Bio
He studied recorder with Nina Stern, Kees Boeke, Marijke Miessen and Jeanette van Wingerden, graduating from the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan and the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam.
He performs intensively as a soloist and with various ensembles of Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary music, including Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, Ensemble Elyma, Ensemble Concerto, Academia Montis Regalis, Accademia Claudio Monteverdi, The Olive Consort, La Fonteverde.
He has played for festivals such as Mito - Settembremusica in Milan, Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Musica e Poesia in S. Maurizio - Milan, Tokyo Recorder Festival, I Concerti del Quartetto - Milan, UNESCO for Venice, Tokyo Opera City, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and Casals Hall in Tokyo.
Since 1991 he has played in a duo with Seiko Tanaka (collaborating with flutists such as Walter van Hauwe, Kees Boeke, Antonio Politano and Tosiya Suzuki); with her he founded the flute ensemble La Rubertina in Tokyo.
He teaches recorder at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva and recorder and historical ornamentation at the Civica Scuola di Musica 'Claudio Abbado' in Milan; he has been a guest professor at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva and the Universitad Pontificia de Musica in Santiago de Chile.
